WHAT IS YAZ BIRTH CONTROL?

Yaz and Yasmin are drospirenone-containing contraceptive medications made by Bayer, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Ocella is the generic version of Yaz and Yasmine and is a registered trademark of Barr Laboratories, Inc. They are effective as a birth control pill, an acne prevention medication for those suffering from moderate acne, and as treatment to decrease the effects of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

Women are claiming that Bayer marketed the drugs as a safe way to be rid of several health concerns—a "catch-all" drug with few side effects. The injury claims state that Bayer failed to provide adequate warning about the significant risks associated with drospirenone-containing drugs.

Justice You Deserve

Due to the severe injuries many consumers who took Yaz and Yasmin have suffered, thousands of women are suing Bayer for negligence and willfully endangering the public. More than 8,500 cases have already been settled at an average of more than $200,000. Thousands more claims remain to be settled. If you or a loved one have suffered from serious complications related to Yaz, Yasmin or Ocella, get a free case evaluation today to see if you may qualify for financial compensation.

In 2012, the FDA stated that women taking Yaz, Yasmin, and Ocella are three times more likely to suffer a blood-clot-related injury than women using other contraceptives. Bayer faces more than 14,000 cases regarding Yaz, Yasmin, and Ocella. The company reported to investors in July 2015 that it had paid $1.97 billion in settlements to approximately 9,900 women for an average of $200,000 per claim. In August 2015, the company agreed to another $57 million. Litigation is ongoing—if you have been injured, get a free evaluation today before the litigation closes.

Even while settling thousands of cases, Bayer refuses to admit wrongdoing. Injuries have included gallbladder disease, heart attack, stroke, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism. Yaz and Yasmin have also been linked to at least 100 deaths.
